Goal: The customer is creating a new line of products and would like a new design that is edgy and not bland. The line up would consist of 3 products to start, with the possibility of adding more products in the future. The customer would like the colors black and red to be incorporated.
Approach: I wanted to use diagonal shapes in the design to give the design an edgy feel. I used the angel of the “X” as a starting point for the diagonal designs. I explored the idea of making a pattern with the “X” and using that in the background. I tried using different textures in the background to make it feel more masculine and rugged.
Solution: While the customer liked many of the options, they chose this option. This design was chosen because it allowed for more copy for future products. It seemed to be the best option to use as a template for any products added to the line.
Note: This label lineup design was created so that it would stand out on the shelf. Because this is an aerosol can, regulations require that a warning statement be placed on the front of the label and a GHS box with more detailed warnings on the back of the label. This is an English/French, US GHS label that is set up to print 3 colors.
